Moscow May 8, 2020. In the past week, compared to the previous week, planned electricity consumption fell in the European part of Russia and Ural and grew in Siberia. Since the start of 2020 and compared to the same period last year the accrued overall electricity consumption also fell in both market price zones.
The average weekly indices of equilibrium prices compared to last week were lower in both market price zones. The average indices of equilibrium prices since the beginning of 2020 were also lower than the indices for the same period last year on the territory of both price zones.
The total planned electricity consumption on the day-ahead market over the past week amounted to 15.99 million MWh. In the European part of the Russia and Ural, the planned electricity consumption amounted to 12.52 million MWh, a decrease of 8.8% compared to last week. The total volume of planned consumption in the European part of the Russia and Ural since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year decreased by 2.3%. In Siberia, the planned electricity consumption amounted to 3.47 million MWh, an increase of 0.6% compared to last week. The total planned consumption in Siberia since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year decreased by 1.6%.
Over the past week, in the structure of the planned development of the European part of the Russia and Ural, the share of thermal power plants decreased by 4.9 percentage points and decreased by 9.6 percentage points relative to the average since the beginning of the year. In the structure of the planned production of Siberia, their share compared to the previous week was lower by 5.3 percentage points and was 11.2 percentage points lower than the average since the beginning of the year.
In the European part of Russia and Ural 55.37% of production was generated by thermal power plants, and 14.30%, 29.85 and 0.48%, respectively, at hydroelectric power stations, nuclear power plants and renewable energy sources. In Siberia, the generation structure was formed as follows: thermal power plants - 39.08%, hydro - 60.68%, renewables - 0.24%.
Since last week, the equilibrium price indices in the European Part of Russia and Ural decreased by 16% and amounted to 960.1 rubles / MWh (the weighted average equilibrium price index for the period from the beginning of the year decreased by 9.3% compared to the same period last year ) In Siberia, the index for the week decreased by 11.8% to 816.7 rubles / MWh (the weighted average equilibrium price index for the period from the beginning of the year decreased by 12.2% compared to the same period last year).
As of May 1, 2020, the total debt of market participants amounted to 69.775 billion rubles, including debt in price zones amounted to 69.755 billion rubles, in non-price zones - 0.020 billion rubles.
