Moscow. May 15, 2020. In the past week, compared with the previous one, the planned electricity consumption decreased in both market price zones. Relative to the levels of the same period last year, planned consumption for the period from the beginning of 2020 also decreased in both price zones.
Compared to the previous week, the values of the average weekly equilibrium price index were higher in both price zones. The average equilibrium price indices since the beginning of 2020 have been lower than the indices for the same period last year on the territory of both market price zones.
The total planned electricity consumption on the day-ahead market over the past week amounted to 15.45 million MWh. In the European part of Russia and Ural, the planned electricity consumption amounted to 12.05 million MWh, a decrease of 3.8% compared to last week. The total volume of planned consumption in the European part of Russia and Ural since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year decreased by 2.5%. In Siberia, the planned electricity consumption amounted to 3.40 million MWh, a decrease of 2% compared to last week. The total planned consumption in Siberia since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year decreased by 1.7%.
Over the past week, in the structure of the planned development of the European part of Russia and Ural, the share of thermal power plants decreased by 2.8 percentage points and decreased by 11.9 percentage points relative to the average since the beginning of the year. In the structure of the planned production of Siberia, the share of TPPs did not change relative to the previous week and was 10.7 percentage points lower than the average since the beginning of the year.
In the European part of Russia and Ural 52.62% of production was generated by thermal power plants, and 15.71%, 31.12%, and 0.55%, respectively, at hydroelectric power stations, nuclear power plants, and renewable energy sources. In Siberia, the generation structure was formed as follows: thermal power plants - 39.05%, hydro - 60.66%, renewables - 0.29%.
Since last week, the equilibrium price indices in the European Part of Russia and Ural increased by 16.2% and amounted to 1,115.8 rubles / MWh (the weighted average equilibrium price index for the period from the beginning of the year decreased by 9.3% compared to the same last year period). In Siberia, the index grew by 8.3% over the week - up to 884.6 rubles / MWh (the weighted average equilibrium price index for the period from the beginning of the year decreased by 12.4% compared to the same period last year).
As of May 1, 2020, the total debt of market participants amounted to 69.775 billion rubles, including debt in price zones amounted to 69.755 billion rubles, in non-price zones - 0.020 billion rubles.
