Moscow. May 29, 2020. Over the week the planned electricity consumption did not change in the European part of Russia and Ural, but increased in Siberia. Relative to the levels of the same period last year, planned consumption for the period from the beginning of 2020 decreased in both market price zones.
Compared to the previous week, the values of the average weekly equilibrium price index were lower in both price zones. The average indices of equilibrium prices since the beginning of 2020 were also lower than the indices for the same period last year on the territory of both price zones.
The total planned electricity consumption on the day-ahead market over the past week amounted to 15.79 million MWh. In the European Part of Russia and Ural, the planned electricity consumption amounted to 12.42 million MWh, unchanged from last week. The total volume of planned consumption in the European Part of Russia and Ural since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year decreased by 2.7%. In Siberia, planned electricity consumption amounted to 3.37 million MWh, an increase of 0.6% compared to last week. The total planned consumption in Siberia since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year decreased by 2%.
Over the past week, in the structure of the planned development of the European Part of Russia and Ural, the share of thermal power plants increased by 1.3 percentage points and decreased by 8 percentage points relative to the average since the beginning of the year. In the structure of the planned production of Siberia, the share of thermal generation compared to the previous week decreased by 1.6 percentage points and was 12.7 percentage points lower than the average since the beginning of the year.
In the European Part of Russia and Ural 55.72% of production was generated by thermal power plants, 14.67%, 29.14% and 0.46%, respectively, at hydroelectric power stations, nuclear power plants and renewable energy sources. In Siberia, the generation structure was formed as follows: thermal power plants - 35.96%, hydro - 63.77%, renewables - 0.26%.
The equilibrium price index in the European Part of Russia and Ural for the week decreased by 3% and amounted to 1,075.3 rubles/ MWh (the average weighted equilibrium price index for the period from the beginning of the year decreased by 10.2% compared to the same period of the past of the year). In Siberia, the index for the week decreased by 5.2% to 874.8 rubles/MWh (the weighted average equilibrium price index for the period from the beginning of the year decreased by 12.9% compared to the same period last year).
As of May 28, 2020, the total debt of market participants amounted to 70.170 billion rubles, including debt in price zones amounted to 70.151 billion rubles, in non-price zones - 0.019 billion rubles.
