Results of Wholesale Electricity and Capacity Market Operation from 29.05.2020 to 04.06.2020

Moscow. June 05, 2020. Last week, compared to the previous week, the planned electricity consumption decreased in the European part of Russia and Ural, and increased in Siberia. Compared to the levels of the same period last year, the planned consumption from the beginning of 2020 decreased in both market price zones.

Compared to the previous week, the values ​​of the average weekly equilibrium price index were lower in the European part of Russia and Ural and higher in Siberia. The average indices of equilibrium prices since the beginning of 2020 compared to the same period last year were lower in both market price zones.

The total planned electricity consumption on the day-ahead market over the past week amounted to 15.58 million MWh. In the European part of the Russia and Ural, the planned electricity consumption amounted to 12.17 million MWh, decreasing by 2% compared to the previous week. The total volume of planned consumption in the European part of the Russia and Ural since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year decreased by 2.8%. In Siberia, the planned electricity consumption amounted to 3.41 million MWh, an increase of 1.2% compared to the previous week. The total volume of planned consumption in Siberia since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year decreased by 1.9%.

Over the past week, the share of thermal power plants in the structure of the planned output of the European part of Russia and Ural decreased by 2.2 percentage points and decreased by 9.8 percentage points since the beginning of the year. In the structure of the planned output in Siberia, the share of thermal power plants increased by 3.8 percentage points relative to the previous week and was 8.6 percentage points lower than the average figure since the beginning of the year.

In the European part of the Russia and Ural, thermal power plants accounted for 53.54% of the generation, hydro, nuclear and renewable energy power plants - 15.64%, 30.26% and 0.56%, respectively. In Siberia, the structure of generation was formed as follows: TPP - 39.80%, HPP - 59.96%, RES - 0.25%.

The equilibrium price index in the European part of the Russia and Ural decreased by 0.1% over the week and amounted to 1,073.7 rubles / MWh (the weighted average equilibrium price index for the period from the beginning of the year decreased by 10.5% compared to the same period last year). In Siberia, the index grew by 2.4% over the week, to 896.0 rubles / MWh (the weighted average equilibrium price index for the period from the beginning of the year decreased by 12.7% compared to the same period last year).

As of June 1, 2020, the total debt of market participants amounted to 70.022 billion rubles, including 70.003 billion rubles in price zones and 0.019 billion rubles in non-price zones.
